Recap of 2012

I can hardly believe that it is already 2013!  There were certainly times when 2012 seemed to drag, but taken as a whole, it zoomed by.  So much happened- here is a quick run down:

Ed:
  • Lost 100 pounds.
  • Opened an office in North Dakota in April.  And just finished their second office a few weeks ago.
  • Wired up the cabin so that we can see what is happening down there.
Kaye:
  • Got recertified to teach for another 5 years but discovered she is no longer marketable.
  • Bought a serger and spent many happy hours sewing- especially for Baby Gracie.
  • Still serves on the City Council.

Colby
  • Spent the summer working in North Dakota.  He made a pile of money.
  • Got engaged to Danaca Moore on Halloween.
  • Worked at WalMart this fall, but got laid off last week, so he's looking for a job.
Parker:
  • Healed his separated shoulder but then had surgery in November to remove an osteochondroma on his knee.  Soon he might get to wrestle again.
  • Got his driver's license. . . and wrecked his truck.
  • Hit six feet tall and size 14 feet.
Reed:
  • Played baritone in the Lehi High School Marching Band and went to Washington, DC to march in the 2012 National Independence Day Parade.
  • Is on the Lehi High School wrestling team and has a JV spot at 113 pounds.
  • Has six happy chickens and sells eggs to the neighborhood.  We also eat lots of omelets.
Lewis and Clark:
  • Big Lew got hurt fetching the tennis ball at Thanksgiving with Madison.  He couldn't even get on the bed, but now has his hops back.
  • Clark sliced his tail open in January which resulted in a partial amputation of his tail.  This fall we have no idea what he did, but we came home one day to find a big chunk out of the end of his tongue.
  • They are the funniest, best dogs around.  Except when they are being sneaky and stealing food off the counters!

Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last Wednesday I submitted the paperwork to run for a seat on the Lehi City Council. It was decision that I had been pondering for several weeks, but of course, I waited until the very last day to file. It will be a tough race with eight candidates vying for two seats- with both incumbents running- but I am going to give it my best. I hope that I will be elected and that I will have a wonderful opportunity to serve the city. I am stunned by the support that I am receiving . It will be wierd in the next couple of weeks when these signs are printed and begin showing up all over the city. Let the craziness begin!!!

I am a dreamer.

I have never considered myself a dreamer. I thought dreaming was a fanciful notion, not based in reality. Oh, how wrong I was!

A couple of weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity of attending Dream Team 13. This is an event put on by Heritage Makers for it's up and coming consultants. It's purpose is to remind us of the power of dreaming and how it can change our lives. I didn't really want to attend, but when your oldest friend and your top team member wants you to go, you go. Although I enjoyed the classes and exercises, I went through at least 2/3 of the class before I had an AHA moment!

It was only when I remembered what my dreams were as a 4th grader, that it occured to me that they had all come true. And then I realized that all of my dreams from just a few years ago had come true, too. There's only one dream- becoming a college professor of music education- that has not come to fruition. Lately I had begun to beat myself up over that, but I realize that although I have been telling myself that it was a failed dream, I gave up that dream because I changed paths. . . and that is OK! I think I am in a much better place now- where I actually want to be.

So, now I am a dreamer again. I can imagine my life as I want it to be and I now have the energy and the focus to work on making those dreams come true. I feel re-energized and re-centered. I am no longer afraid to fail. . . or succeed! The vehicle to my dreams is Heritage Makers- a company that has a fabulous product that I love and feel good about sharing. What a blessing!

Do you need to start dreaming again? I can give you some pointers to get you started on the path, but the best thing you can do is get involved with Heritage Makers and qualify for the next session. It will change your life. It changed ours!
